Richard Mitchell

Richard Mitchell’s background as a director of photography on commercials, short films, feature films and music promos, informs his stylised approach towards video directing.

He has directed promos for artists including Hot Leg, The Tunics, Helicopter Girl, Weapons, Mashtun Grace and Eberg.

Richard began his career as a photographer before breaking into the film industry as a cinematographer with his first film The Fence, one of the first British films to be shot and projected in High Definition at the National Film Theatre.
His follow-up, One Way Or Another, a collaboration with Ben Salavati, met with worldwide festival success including an official selection at the Chicago Film Festival.

Credits as cinematographer include The Iron Cross starring Roy Sneider in his final film role, British independent film The Boat People and Oh Simone, a 35mm short film which recently won Best Dramatic Short at Worldfest in the USA.
