Mike Keelin

Michael Keelin is a presenter, jazz aficionado and DJ. He can often be found playing music in bars and clubs around London.
Working as a marketing co-ordinator for the Travel Channel to finance his education, Mike left university with a degree in film studies He then went on to work as a production manager in the adult entertainment industry and finally as a presenter for Sumo TV. It was at Sumo where Mike was given the opportunity to develop his own TV series from which Brainjar and Shockarama were born. Both programmes cleverly mixed UGC web video content with archive material and re-engineered it into darkly abstract visuals inspired by Chris Morris’ ‘Jam’.
Mike has recently been creating unique visuals with dj Cherrystones for their jigoko project.

Mike Keelin is as natural in front of the camera as he is in everyday life. His deadpan presenting style is often mistaken for the work of a simpleton however, sporadic glimpses of genius punctuate his interviews through insightful trains of thought.

Blissfully unaware, Mike brings a light-hearted, humorous approach to the subject matter which ensures the audience remain engaged and enthralled by his reports. Comparisons are hard therefore we’ll let his mouth do the talking.

This summer, Mike is working closely with Kirkwall on a series concept entitled ‘Mike’s Into…’.

Currently in development, the series challenges Mike to investigate popular culture for which he has zero interest in whatsoever, in an attempt to understand it’s appeal. The taster  revolves around football and can be viewed below.
